Little Comfort Farm
Extensive refurbishment works were carried out on four holiday lets to include a biomass boiler and heat distribution network along with a photovoltaic system, upgrades to the plant room and a mains power upgrade.
The original barns were stone agricultural bank barns which included a mill and cattle shed. They were originally made from brick and stone and converted circa 1990 into living accommodation for holiday lets.
The new owners our clients, were looking to update these barns from outdated basic accommodation to luxury healthy living accommodation. Using the highest sustainable materials together with a sympathetic build approach they were able to achieve highly luxurious buildings whilst keeping their individual charm.
The Finished Project
The brief was met; four luxury barns were completed with individual layouts to each including one with full wheelchair access throughout. Open plan single storey cottage with vaulted ceiling and cathedral window, to an open plan 5 bedroom family two story accommodation to include 5 bathrooms / wet rooms, all the barns were designed with the living accommodation leading to private courtyard gardens.
The workmanship and attention to detail was of the highest standard.
During the construction additional challenges were met due to a Natural England license for the conservation of bat habitats on the site, any roof work to the barns had to be undertaken between the months of September and October whilst fitting in with an extensive build programme.
